So few

Silence... prescious seconds of it.

By Joshua WillisPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Eyes once filled with joy.

Inner beauty would glow, in the thought of tomorrow.

Reflections only show sorrow.

The mirror, a shadow of myself.

Looking back at me.

Burdened by wishes and dreams.

Once I was a master of my own universe.

My steps, fumble... a curse.

Find in me a will to survive.

To keep the fight.

Wounded from life.

These scars, stories written on my skin.

Sunset, brings silver lined clouds, to burn on the horizon.

Memories, awake at night.

War raging, in my heart.

Look up! The stars a guiding light?

Their glow, faded and no longer.
