Snowflakes Collide

Crystal-White so Bright

By Michelle DanicPublished 5 years ago 2 min read

I woke up today.

I don’t really know where I am.

I look out this window, millions of frozen white flakes floating sideways through the sky.

They’re all from somewhere, on their way to land somewhere.

But it’s this dance in between. They’re all from up above, forming as a single molecule, colliding with the next and being swayed by the flow of the currents taking them.

They are in it all together. On their own little line in their own giant void, yet a part of their own colonization of a little spec, frozen and formed into something precious.

A soft entity dazzling in these eyes. Pushing and pulling with the mountain forces, as their life drifts among the skies.

Like stars in the night sky, a tiny life passing by in its own existence, its own path, not knowing its impact or where it Is headed, only being where it is, among the rest and with their tales past.

It’s a short time they begin their descent, as it lands ever so delicately where it may. Adapting to the Earth, feeling its place as its fellow flakes join the dance it now lay upon. They all begin and all end.

This magical flurry of life in the sky, as their journey cascades down and all around its frosted existence. Dancing freely, singing softly and beaming its white so bright. A beauty for those who adore its simplicity it holds, the graceful happiness of life it brings, as it changes landscapes of life, a fresh and untouched surface to begin a new track.

Cover the fallen leaves so cold, protect its surface as we glide above its glistening body. May they lift the spirits of the night, as these footsteps journey through their own new path, as we call out for the mountains to call back. So silent among these frosted leaf-less trees. Their spine bare, bark inhabiting riches of Earth-divine life. It is simply a whole new world, captured in a breath as its shades beam to crystal-white so bright.
