Shake, rattle, and roll
1 is a die, 2 are dice
the first cast is lucky seven
an addictive rattle of the dice
the seductive feel of the cubes
each side with 1-6 pips
rolling a 2 is mostly unlucky
numbers at random decide
gambling for money
the victory of a perfect throw

Lost fortunes
mortgaged homes
divorce
but have to keep rolling
need help to quit
living in cheap rooms
driving a jalopy
gotta go to the tables
missing work

I have never gambled before and never will. But then again, life in itself is a gamble, lol!
The short sentance structure give the feeling of fear and panic. It fits well!
