Take it all out on me

like you do

maybe leave marks deep enough that the scars are my reminder

of what you think I did.

Throw the shots

like you'll never miss

and pretend there was a target on your back

as if you didn't place it on yourself with a simple text.

You made them hate me

let them look through your looking-glass

see your version of reality

searching and scanning for the wrongdoings

and tried to get rid of me in any capacity.

But like a snake

as you called me,

I shed my skin and grew into someone new.

I never needed to ruin you

you were good at doing that yourself

and your lover saw you for the snake you are

and left you.

Speak of snakes and get the fangs

the poison runs deep within your veins

as much as you want to be of your precious sky daddy

you are nothing more than the devil you feared.

Take a long look in the mirror

I am everything you can never be

hate-free, kind, original and trustworthy.

One day you will see my name

be reminded of the wrongs you did and realize

the snake lived within your own skin.
