Withering, slithering

Cunning piercing eyes,

forked tongue dancing as it watches

cold scaly skin

Coiling and twisting around trees

hues of mossy colored greens and earth tone browns

hiding out of sight under sticks and leaves.

Slithering snake suddenly breaks

out of old skin, revealing new

It slithers away leaving old skin behind

Just as slithering snake sheds its skin,

it's time for us to shed as well

to shed bad energy

negative thoughts

toxicity

a time for transformation

of forward-thinking and renewal

And just as the snake slithers away from old skin,

we must look forward to new beginnings

leaving bad energy behind.
