Sleep Song For My Little Girl

An English-Spanish bilingual poem

Your pequeña body is tired

It needs ample descanso

We read the cuento libro

Now you sleep, my niña hija

Warm under the soft manta

Holding your pink pulpo toy

Your madre is near to watch you

No pesadilla will bother

Dream of luna and flores prado

Wake up fresh like margarita

To greet a new día

To learn more about this tierra

To spread more amor

To be more feliz.

Translation:

Your little body is tired and needs rest. We read the storybook. Now you sleep under the soft blanket, holding your toy. Your mother is near, so nightmare will not bother you.

Dream of the moon and meadow flowers. Wake up fresh like a daisy, to learn more about this earth, to spread more love, and to be happier.
