Since you left the skyline hasn’t been the same.
The breeze in the wind has changed.
We look up and don’t see you and all we feel is pain.
I’ll never forget the voices of the trapped as they choked.
Fading away in and out of the haze of smoke.
Quite the morning of a city in trouble.
Towers of fire reduced to a mountain of rubble.
Thinking of the heroes who died to save life.
Oh what a soul of a brave life.
The skyline was shattered. You left a huge crater in the earth.
We just lowered 3000 graves into the earth.
Countless widows and orphans just lost someone.
What does the price of heroism cost someone.
A rather quick burn led to a slow fact.
That fiery sky traumatized me and I can never go back.
Farewell to the skyline and my brothers that fell from you.
You were beauty until Tuesday made hell of you.
I miss the city, but it left me in pain.
The slightest glimpse of the city drives my brain insane.
I’ll try to remember the good. A trade center of good.
Maybe one day it’ll be my time to return to the skyline.
~Dedicated to the victims and everyone who witness September 11th 2001.

Joe, this is an absolutely fabulous tribute. The words and rhyming and the sadness of the memory of the towers gone, hurting those who were used to seeing it.
