Six Years Gone and That's All I Need to Know
Does time fly when you're chasing love, or does love chase time away?
If it was so easy for you to let me go, then that’s all I need to know.
Six years hoping for your love, with nothing left to show.
For what am I waiting? Unwatered gardens never grow.
Six years going ‘round in circles. Think it’s time we let this go.
Six years never reaching greener pastures.
What the hell am I chasing after?
A night of passion. A moment of flight.
Six years of crashing. We are ships in the night.
All of our chances keep passing us by.
So many shoulda, coulda, woulda’s.
Too many maybe, I don’t know’s.
I can’t go back and you won’t move forward.
Looks like there’s no where left to go.
I didn’t want to say goodbye.
I hoped you wouldn’t let me.
But you stood right there as I walked away, with nothing left to say.
If it was that easy, didn’t hurt at all to leave me,
Well, I guess that’s all I need to know.

This feels so raw and real. Six years is such a long time to hope for someone’s love, and you captured that exhaustion perfectly. It’s heartbreaking but also strangely freeing to read.
