Sitting

A poem about life

By Jared DiehlPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

I am sitting,

And I am still,

Asking you,

Show me Your will.

I’ve waited and I have seen,

I have been invited to the

World of the unseen.

You shine bright,

And so does all

Around You.

I have been lost in a dark place

Skipping the woods,

Without a trace.

I haven’t seen

Anything like You.

I haven’t got the

Slightest clue.

Darkness has been

So friendly,

I gratify this flesh

More than daily.

I have risen to the top of

All I know to be,

Yet its never enough

Failure can’t be.

I am sitting and trying for still

But this heart is restless,

And beats for more,

Are you here,

Are you the more?

This dark place is known

By You,

This harrowing road is

Lost by the true.

I am not running,

I am not chasing,

I am not walking,

I am still standing,

And this fight with my brain

Drives most of us insane,

Clearly there is a path for us,

For the lost of the forgotten,

How can anyone understand,

Is this part of the master plan.

I am following in darkness,

Looking for the lighted path

That you have set for me.
