Every time

Every one without fail

You pierce as though it wasn’t there

The strongest I had ever forged

Link by link and yard by yard

Oceans to drown in

Oceans of mail

Borne by me against the slings and arrows

Of my own worst judgement

I thought I was safe from you

But when you kiss me

I can feel fire blazing beneath my skin

Searing my bones

Bringing me down to my knees

For you I’d trade anything

Send me down below

Make me play for seven minutes in Hell

If only for the chance

Even the hope

Another round

And a third after that

One more and I’ll be fine

One more and I’ll be fine

The more I say it

It rings hollow

One more and I’ll be done

One more and I’ll be done

Can’t forget the taste of sinning

Can’t resist the call

The one that drags me down

The one that pulls my breath from my lips

Replacing it

Leaving in its place

Empty

Hollow

Ringing

Empty

A lonely bell in a silent graveyard

Not even the dead to call my friends

One more…

And another…

Love the taste of sinning

Searing against my soul

Beautiful pain

Tearing away at my foundations

It’s everything I need and more

Leaving me hollow

Calling for the dead to answer

Knowing that I’m alone

Torn asunder

Shaken by thunder

Of the lonely bell

Tolling the hour

One more

And I’ll be done…

At first I thought it was about a toxic love; but now I think it is an addiction drugs/alcohol/gambling that the person is trapped in the pain of.

This is incredible! Every line was so well done and flowing together so seamlessly.

Damn... the darkness in this piece just grabs you and reminds you that you can never escape the melancholia!! I loved the nods to our favourite song within this one!! Smartly written, it helped build that foreboding feeling!

  • Gosh this was so intense and the feeling of hopelessness and helplessness was so palpable! Loved it! Sending you lots of love and hugs ❤️
