For my life, I have atoned,

I've cleansed my soul

vowed to be free;

I've suffered through my prayers,

the price for each, far too steep;

I've ascended towards paradise,

I've bathed upon his alter,

my skin doused in holy flame,

and cleansed in holy water.

But mortality betrays me,

craving the touch of one impure,

burning under lesser thrills

unquenched, wanting more,

to sip upon the devil's sin,

to scorch a throat divine

for temporary happiness

I've committed countless crimes.

I am only human,

devout in moderation,

paradise eternal cannot compare

to your temptation.

Let us pray,

let us pray.
