Singing in Neutrality

Finding Joy in the Simple Act of Singing

By sjinfo 2023Published 3 years ago 2 min read

One example of a song that can be sung in a neutral state of mind is "Happy Birthday to You." While the song is often associated with celebratory occasions, the lyrics themselves are simply a neutral statement of well-wishing towards the person having a birthday. Singing it can be done without feeling particularly happy or sad, and can be seen as a gesture of kindness and respect towards the person being celebrated.

Verse 1:

I wake up every morning, feeling nothing at all

The world is just the same, no matter how I feel

Sometimes I feel like singing, sometimes I just stay still

But there's a melody within me, that's waiting to be revealed

Chorus:

So I sing a song of neutrality, a tune that's just alright

No highs or lows, no joy or woes, just a melody to pass the time

I hum the notes without emotion, but it feels good all the same

Cause sometimes the simple act of singing, can make me feel okay

Verse 2:

Life is full of ups and downs, that's just the way it goes

But when I'm feeling nothing, I let my voice take control

I don't need a reason to sing, I don't need to feel inspired

I just need to let the music flow, and let my spirit rise

Chorus:

So I sing a song of neutrality, a tune that's just alright

No highs or lows, no joy or woes, just a melody to pass the time

I hum the notes without emotion, but it feels good all the same

Cause sometimes the simple act of singing, can make me feel okay

Bridge:

In a world that's always changing, it's nice to have a constant sound

A song that's always with me, whenever I'm feeling down

It may not be a masterpiece, it may not be profound

But it's a song that I can sing, no matter what's around

Chorus:

So I sing a song of neutrality, a tune that's just alright

No highs or lows, no joy or woes, just a melody to pass the time

I hum the notes without emotion, but it feels good all the same

Cause sometimes the simple act of singing, can make me feel okay

Outro:

So let's all sing a song of neutrality, a tune that's just alright

No matter how we're feeling, we'll let our voices take flight

We'll sing without inhibition, we'll sing with all our might

And even if we're feeling nothing, we'll sing to feel alright.

The song I wrote is about the act of singing in a neutral state of mind, without feeling any particular emotion. It speaks to the idea that sometimes we don't feel particularly happy or sad, but singing can still be a way to express ourselves and connect with something greater than ourselves. The song encourages us to embrace the simplicity of just humming a tune, without feeling the need to be profound or deeply emotional. It suggests that even in our most neutral moments, we can find solace in the act of singing and let it lift our spirits. Overall, the song is a gentle reminder to find joy in the simple things and to embrace the power of music to uplift us, no matter our emotional state.
