you pinched my thigh,
signing the time,
to celebrate a piece of your favorite pie,
**
rubbing my eyes,
I wake up with a jolt to mime,
you pinched my thigh,
**
alarming at this hour with a prize,
oh dear, I don't want to be a partner in your crime,
to celebrate a piece of your favorite pie,
**
kisses and roses, to my surprise,
I hold the hands crawling from beside only to turn on a dime,
you pinched my thigh,
**
gift-wrapped empty boxes improvise,
your sneaky mock drill to remind me ahead of time,
to celebrate a piece of your favorite pie,
**
silly memories to cherish our time that flies,
I am still stunned at the drama played this time,
you punched my thigh,
to celebrate a piece of your favorite pie.

Parvathi J
Through my pages, I find the quiet complexities of pain dwelling in a solitary space, burdening life’s endless demands, and unburdening the voiceless noise.
Witnessing the questioning, I speak the deeper silence of my voice.

very Good
Excellent poets. words are very unique.
This was a brilliantly executed Villanelle. However, in line 3 of the last stanza, you wrote punched instead of pinched. Just wanted to let you know 😊
