Silk
love at first sight is a love where youth and hope remains
was I accidently falling in love?
the kind that awaits us, and the kind that we wish for- as one does with a book of fantasies in hand and undisputed loneliness in their heart. the years go on, but still no wrinkles coat the crevices of our eyes.
that love stays young, as do the freshly grown roses outside the morning dew covered window, and the sun that shines across our aging faces, and we think, there is growth but still our hands tighten with the silky skin of our youth.
Young Love looks to us as it ages, we keep it steady, consistent. it uses us- the well-preserved leather bound journal of experiences kept in the attic- as a precedent for its future expeditions, we seem old, mature. but still we laugh with childlike wonder.
I knew you were the one I would grow old with the one that would keep me falling in young.
'cause only you could fill this empty space
the kind that requires nurturing, and only you have been able to nurture. is there a remedy for the falling that I have done- in love, I mean. you seem well prepared to catch me.
perhaps I can fill this space with my tears, happy ones that have only fallen for you, a heavy heart and mind become so full that only tears are allowed to escape, no words- just the promise of "I love you." you seem more than ready to wipe my soft cheek.
ink covers your arms in the same way a blanket covers mine, your gentleness goes unnoticed, in fact I can't stop staring. how is it possible to be given a thread of silk so strong? you are ready to pull me out.
I knew you were the one I would escape with the one that would keep me falling in love.
