so much of life feels so uncertain
hold your breath, close up the curtains

waiting for the sun to rise
for clarity night can’t disguise
•
hold on
hold fast
listen close
outlast
•
till quiet truth streams through the door–
I’m not a prisoner anymore
•
sit in silence in the pause
before day breaks: the little death
•
then look around, feet on the ground
open your eyes
•
and take a breath
