Silence is beautiful

Words can be violence

He turns words into violence.

Breaking through my silence

He comes crashing in

Into my little world

His words inflict pain

Putting sadness in my brain

Piercing through my heart

Shredding my world apart

Why won’t he understand?

His words smash like a hand

All I have ever wanted

All I have ever needed

I’ve held before in my arms

His words cause me harm

They are unnecessary

And too much to carry

Vows have been spoken

Crushed and broken

My feelings are intense

He hurts at my expense

For him, the pleasures remain

I’m stuck feeling only the pain

Words are trivial and meaningless

Alone I stand feeling useless

All I have ever wanted

All I have ever needed

A love that I could hold in my arms

Shelter from the words that harm

Leaving behind all the unnecessary

For his pain, I will no longer carry

All I want and all that I need

Is kindness that’s guaranteed

Pull me into your arms

Save me from this harm

Departure from this violence

Granting me beautiful silence
