I was born under Taurus

I was born under Taurus,
And the earth in me does not tremble.
I walk with a steady pulse,
And a calm that does not bend
For theatrics or excuses,
Or the fragile masks people wear
When truth feels too heavy in their hands.
I do not suffer fools gladly.
I do not pretend not to notice
The twist of a story,
The sly little dodge,
The smile that hides a blade.
Duplicity has a scent,
And I catch it long before
The lie learns to speak.
Call me names if you must,
But know I will not carry
Your projection like a burden.
I will hand it back to you
With the same clarity
You tried to avoid.
I will not shrink
To make your shadow smaller.
I will not bow
To soothe your chaos.
My boundaries are not warnings.
They are stone.
They are the quiet certainty
Of someone who knows
What respect feels like
And refuses to settle
For anything less.
I am Taurus.
I stand in my truth
Without apology,
Without haste,
Without fear.
If you want a place in my life,
Bring honesty.
Bring accountability.
Bring the courage
To meet me without masks.
Anything less
Is noise I will not dignify.

PERFECT!! I have always said that I am a placid bull, happy to meander through a meadow sniffing the flowers, UNTIL you wave that proverbial red flag at me. Then, the raging bull emerges and it's at that point, you'd better move - and move quickly. Yes, I also am a Taurus (May 18)
