Should Have Said

Crashlanding on an alien world may be the best thing to happen to two friends when one harbors a secret.

By Alicia AnspaughPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

We crashed on this world two weeks ago, full of lush jungles and sparkling oceans. Yesterday, after some trouble with their sacred beast, we met the Thara, the native sentient species of humanoid cobras.

We were invited to their home caves.

Now one of them has taken a liking to Lari and has challenged me to a battle. They believe we are mated even though we are not.

As I step into the stone circle of combat, Lari is worried for me, and I wonder if I should tell her that I've been in love with her since we met.
