Short Poems

Vol. 2

“Voices long for song;

Choices: Right or wrong?

Rejoice for life - a dawn a day;

Applaud - Hooray:

Make noise along the way;

Be strong where you belong - okay?

You can cause the laudable - you’re great;

I love all that you say, make sure it’s audible:

Create a stellar sonorous soundscape.”

- Old Dying Joe

“It’s decided:

I will slide behind the mic - we’re undivided;

Bonded by the rhymes, responses are what I give:

I find it’s fond to honor sponsors and providers,

so, sonorously I will sound: Thank you all for riding

- Thank you for believing - I appreciate the lighting;

On the spot, I’m brightening; Heightened happiness, excited;

I’m inspirited to mirror altruistic hero-acts -

I might lend my energy with the intention to enlighten:

I want to teach and toss the tools to each,

to breach the walls - extend the reach,

amend what has appalled the people -

prove that we’re all equal

- move with gall, but remain peaceful -

Smooth the ball, the world can be full.”

- Old Dying Joe
