Shine Where You Are

Shine Where You Are”

Verse 1

Some folks wait for magic

Falling from the sky,

Chasing every streak of light

That flickers as it flies.

But you taught me something different,

Something truer to the heart—

That the bravest kind of starlight

Is the kind that doesn’t dart.

Chorus

’Cause you never wish on shooting stars—

They’re gone before you know.

You wish on the ones with courage

Just to stay and glow.

The ones that hold their place

In the quiet of the dark…

You wish on the stars

That shine where they are.

Verse 2

There’s beauty in the staying,

In the steady, gentle gleam—

Not every hope needs fireworks

To carry out a dream.

Sometimes the brightest blessings

Are the ones that never roam—

The stars that keep on shining

Like a porch light calling home.

Chorus

’Cause you never wish on shooting stars—

They’re gone before you know.

You wish on the ones with courage

Just to stay and glow.

The ones that hold their place

In the quiet of the dark…

You wish on the stars

That shine where they are.

Bridge

Maybe that’s the lesson

We’ve been learning all along—

That staying true is bravery,

That stillness can be strong.

And maybe we’re like starlight

Trying hard to play our part—

Learning how to shine

Right where we are.

Final Chorus

So you never wish on shooting stars—

They fade too fast to trust.

You wish on the ones who linger

In the sky because they must.

The ones that keep on glowing

Like a promise in the dark…

You wish on the stars

That shine where they are.

Outro

Yeah, here’s to every quiet light

That never travels far—

The ones who teach us how to shine

Right where we are.
