She Was Unknowingly Born A Warrior
She needs to remember who she is

She definitely has the strength to move forward
But she has forgotten who she was born to be,
She is living as if it is still the yesterday of her pain
Unaware of the life she is destined to lead.
***
Yes, yesterday she was hiding in the shadows
Crying and shaking in fear at the extreme stench,
Which had ravaged her innocence horrifically
Showering her pain in which she was drenched.
***
How is it that she is not aware of her status
Unknowingly born into the strong warrior race,
The greatest warriors of her time were born
Just as she was but they’re aware in their case.
***
As she arrived in this world, kicking and screaming
I’ll admit she was temporarily stripped of her light,
She realised she was filled with an external darkness
Where she discovered her strength to win the fight.
***
It did not take her long to win back the pure light
As she savoured the very love that she does admire,
Taking the essence of the very air that she breathes
And fought the darkness as she exhaled it as fire.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
