She Walks In Light

A Monorhyme

By Mother CombsPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

As I prepare to write

I stare out at the site

Hoping to catch sight

Of the Lady in White

*

I am all uptight.

Being out at night

Watching in fright

For the walking sprite

*

I have tried to be polite.

I have tried to do what’s right.

So here I sit, waiting now out of spite.

Waiting to see her alight

*

The thought of her is a blight

The idea of her fills me with might

Her loveliness is a respite

The lady graced with the bright

*

Praying that I remain alright

And that I don’t take flight.

With my heart feeling all tight,

Because she walks in the light.

I love the fact that it stuck to the same rhyme sound but never felt dull and just felt like you built up the mystique of the Lady in White. Well done, Sharon and thank you for sharing this/submitting this!
