She surrendered her heart
And they said she was weak
She fell for somebody who quickened it’s beat
She forgot who she was and put on a mask
She felt there were questions she had no right to ask
She carried a burden and soon it took over
She referred to herself as another pushover
She tried to fight back, but forgot who she was
She had grown afraid of all of her flaws
She took a moment to discover her peace
She packed her bags and ran off to the beach
She sat neath the palm trees, toes in the sand
Sun on her face, a cold drink in her hand
She decided to let go, let it all fall away
And nurture the girl that she had locked away
The woman, without the mask

Well done! I like the structure and how nearly every line repeats the word "she." It really adds emphasis to the woman's journey.
