She

Barren and broken

By ZPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

She sits,

Looking on, straight face and blank in expression.

Her curves accentuated through growth and pain.

The kind Influencers buy for thousands.

Life experiences carved into her skin, hidden deep beyond what the eye can glimpse.

Experiences even Empaths would find hard to believe.

"Do you have anyone you talk to?"

She sits,

Looking on, eyes glazed over and brow ever so slightly furrowed.

Her stump hung low in the chair as the other leg attempts to balance her out.

Hands resting calmly on the wheels. But poised for escape.

Conversation skips past her and flashes of personality, of warmth, attempt to break through that composure.

Almost dappling her cheeks like sunlight breaking through stormy clouds.

But then, it just fails her.

Softness has long since waned as she persevered through loss.

Her womanhood robbed her blind,

she's now left this empty shell.

Still, she sits.

Looking on...Waiting patiently for her Love to return.

But forever saying farewell to all that's departed.

The 'S' in her curves accentuated by her pain, defined in her spine.

"There are options..."

Her eyes narrow and a flicker of...

emotion?

Something else?

It passes over her face fast. Something happened, as fleeting as it was.

A realisation perhaps...

Her body knew before her mind.

Her heart. Her womb. Her self sensing her time was nigh and trying to cling on to a child that never arrived.

Oh the sadness! Such pain struck her heart!

Grief washes over her... and yet, there still, amongst all the mothers,

She sits. Awaiting her Love
