She Spoke in Ashes
Every-Word true Now she talked with confidence

She Spoke in Ashes
She didn’t rise, like a flame
she clawed through the cinders
with nails cracked from silence,
spine bent, not broken. Like her.
eyes like storms that refused to pass.
They thought her quiet was surrender,
misread the stillness as sleep,
alas her heart
was hammering poems against her ribs,
each beat a defiance
they were too dull to hear.
She wore her scars
like smudged mascara
not hidden,
not ashamed.
Proof of fire.
Proof she stayed.
Not a phoenix,
no flames, no glory.
Just a woman
who outlasted
everything that tried
to silence her name.
Today she sits confident
proud of who she has become
just a poet that writes
that talks and smiles.
at her desk who words are born
where confidence grows
it grows with each written line.
she feels happy expressing herself
she leaves depression behind.
going forward confidently
writing now her life.
All Thanks to vocal.media, and friends she made along the way.

I love this - they were too dull to hear. A good reminder to keep writing anyway and not let anyone or anything put out your fire.
Best work 🙏 " at her desk, words are formed." I like that .
Beautiful
She is wonderful and beautiful and glad she is moving forward
