She Smiles

When she smiles

People always notice;

When she smiles

People flock to be by her side;

Her smile puts others at ease

Making them feel safe and relieved;

Her smile calms their constant storms

Giving hope to the fearful;

But when the smile stops

Few stay by her side.

When the smile fades

No one cares to ask why;

Her smile is what they want

And without it she is just a face;

Her smile is what they need

They don't recognize it as greed;

But her smile is only part of her

There's so much more beneath;

So few will venture further

To see the soul under the surface,

But she doesn't mind...

So she smiles
