She's the Man

Living in XY

By The Girl in GreyPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

If she had her own opinions, God forbid they be louder than yours

If she became her own dashing knight riding on the White Horse

Would you face the other way for a damsel in distress?

Would you be unwilling to face the final level test?

They claim they like them strong with independent flairs

They think they know the reflection living in her glares

The thorns laced up a field of black roses lie waiting

For the brave to walk across for someone who doesn't need saving

Daddy never taught her that she couldn't ride with the boys

He said, "Make sure you know how to use your own voice"

Never left her waiting for a man to fill that empty void

Not impressed with the fuckboys playing with steroids

More than a woman, more than the manly kind

You have to get passed her eyes to change her mind

There's more than dangerous places waiting on the inside

A big, dark room where your soul has nowhere to hide

She stays soft in the spots where it truly matters most

Lifts the world up with an inclusive type of toast

Cheers to the heartbreaks, mistakes and the ghosts

For each new failure brings her one more step close

Love Always,

Chayle
