She Believes In The Impossibilities
For those who don’t believe, get out of her way

She wears her cloak of strength,
Invisible to you and I, but made of steel,
She’s invincible as she wanders the hallways,
The darkness of the underworld holds her appeal.
***
She trips her demons with her steel capped boots,
As she saunters along her merry way,
Looking for the boss, the ultimate sinner,
Revenge is the cheque she is writing today.
***
After her trip down memory lane,
Along those lonely, horrific alleyways,
She arrives topside, determination firmly in hand,
Laying down her temper, scorching in a fiery blaze.
***
She stumbles into a solid brick wall,
Her enemies placing before her, a road block,
“It’s impossible,” she hears them whisper,
Believing she can’t open the chain and lock.
***
She taps lightly on the door,
Using the broadness of her knuckles,
A smile alighting her face,
Knowing she terrifies them, ignites her chuckles.
***
She waits in silence, listening to their whispers,
“Calm down, she’s blockaded behind these walls,”
She clearly hears them say in a trembling voice,
“Nothing is impossible, you’ll see,” she laughingly calls.
***
Silence, golden silence, falls,
And when she realises they’ve no more to say,
She laughs once more and quietly mumbles,
“Those who believe it’s impossible, better get out of my way!”

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
