The storm that rages after the end

The howl outside my window of the wind whipping through the trees

The roar of the raindrops in torrents and lightning flashes that blind.

The thunder crashes from heaven, as the punishing hail descends

My whimpers turn to cries, and anguished moans reach crescendo.

I always knew this day would find me. Couldn't find shelter for long.

The storm that threatened beneath, has risen at last to rage without.

The monster once awakened, his full fury at last unleashed,

cuts a swath of destruction in it's wake.

And only shattered bits of me remain.
