Mikeydred One Week Sad Poem Challenge For All Vocal Creators: A Sad Poem Inspired By A Bouke de Vries Image

I shattered from the weight

of your malevolent words,

you cast at me with hate.

**

Your dark illusions,

of what love was supposed to be,

was nothing but a mad man’s sick delusions.

**

First, it was my heart that cracked,

like a mirror cruelly smashed,

then, it was my soul being hacked.

**

Now, my once milky porcelain face

is streaked with bloody tears

from all the venomous insults over the years.

**

Broken in spirit

yet, here I still stand.

Do you not hear it?

The fluttering of nature’s innocent band?

**

The butterflies ascend,

their fragile wings weaving my living carcass,

for they too sense my approaching end.

My shattered soul

can’t repel

the butterflies’ goal,

casting a shell, their survival, a fate I can't quell.

Poem inspired by: Bouke De Vries Madama butterfly, 2010. 20th century Arita porcelain figure and mixed media.

This one’s deep and powerful! There’s a real beauty in the fragility of it all—like you're breaking but still growing, even if it’s hard to see.
