Shake Hands with a Snake

Shake Hands with a Snake
Two men in suits, the deal is set,
A handshake firm, no signs of regret.
But one has a snake coiled around his wrist,
A silent warning, too subtle to resist.
The other smiles, unaware of the threat,
The snake’s cold eyes, a promise unmet.
With every word, the deal grows tight,
But the serpent’s presence shadows the light.
A handshake sealed, but trust can break,
For sometimes in business, you shake with a snake.
The price is hidden, the risk unknown,
In the grasp of a deal, you stand alone.
Warning
So when you shake hands, be sharp and wise,
Not all deals are as clean as they guise.
A snake may smile, but its bite’s concealed,
Trust not the charm, or you may be reeled.
