Shadows of the Earth We Know
It’s Mother Nature isn’t happy with the love we give out

Shadows of the Earth We Know
The earth we know is quiet dust,
Veins of rust beneath our feet.
It spins in grief, a muted trust,
Where sun and sorrow always meet.
The trees remember how we lied,
Their twisted limbs still reaching out.
The oceans keep the things we hide,
And whisper them when no one shouts.
Cities choke on neon dreams,
Built on bones and borrowed breath.
Even silence splits at the seams.
This place is haunted by its death.
The soil is thick with shattered prayers,
Muttered low and left to rot.
Skies collapse in fractured layers,
Clouds forget what light they’ve caught.
Children laugh in rusted halls,
Their echoes sharp as broken glass.
Hope leans weak against the walls,
A dying ghost of futures past.
Ash has settled on the moon,
And stars look down with dim sadness.
They’ve watched us build our final tune.
A symphony of smoke and pain.
We write in blood, we speak in fire,
And call it progress as we fall.
But every grave was once desire,
And now, desire consumes it all.
We walk like shadows on the crust,
Pretending not to see the glow
Of something lost, of something just.
The end beneath the earth we know.

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️
