In the twilight's tender embrace, I'm beset,

Haunted by the weight of shadows of regret,

They linger in the corners, where memories reside,

A haunting symphony of mistakes, I cannot hide.

Each shadow, a phantom of a choice once made,

In the theater of my mind, they dance and cascade,

Regrets like ghosts, in the corridors of my soul,

With whispers of "what if," and tales of the toll.

They remind me of paths I did not tread,

Of words unspoken, of love left unsaid,

The chances I missed, like stars in the night,

Now distant and dim, in hindsight's fading light.

Oh, the shadows of regret, they claw and they sway,

Asking me to rewind, to rewrite, to replay,

But I carry them with me, a bittersweet load,

Lessons from the past, on life's winding road.

In their melancholy embrace, I find some grace,

For in the shadows of regret, there's still a place,

To learn, to grow, to find solace and to reset,

To make peace with the past, these shadows of regret.
