In the quiet of the night, secrets softly creep,

Whispers of the heart buried deep.

Words unsaid, like ghosts, linger near,

A confession trapped in trembling fear.

I watched you smile, a light in the room,

While shadows of doubt began to loom.

Each heartbeat echoed, a painful refrain,

Desire is wrapped tightly in chains of pain.

Beneath the laughter, a truth unspoken,

A fragile heart, feeling broken.

I longed to tell you of the love I keep,

But silence held me, a promise to keep up.

The moments we shared are now bittersweet,

Every glance is a reminder of defeat.

I painted my heart in colors so bright,

Yet you see only shadows, lost in the night.

What if I dared to bare my soul?

To unravel the threads, to lose control?

But what if the light in your eyes faded,

If the words I spoke caused love to degrade?

So I keep my truth wrapped in despair,

A heavy burden I silently bear.

In dreams, I confess, as tears softly fall,

But in my waking hours, I’m nothing at all.

So here I stand, on the edge of release,

Caught in the silence, longing for peace.

A Sad Poet's tale of love and regret,

In the shadows of confession, I linger, beset.
