Shadow of the Last Dream
A Ghazal of Silent Flight and Remembered Names
By heasb001Published 6 months ago • 1 min read

This ghazal is a meditation on inner stillness after emotional exile. It weaves a narrative where departure leaves the world loud but empty, the self uncaged but unmoved. Memory, shadow, and longing take the shape of voice—echoing through absence. It is soft but piercing, like a whisper in the wind.
No path remains, no end, no trace of day—
Just a heart adrift in night, in shadowed sway.
You left, and silence filled the air entire,
The world breathes loud—but stripped of fire.
Though the cage broke open, I didn’t rise,
I stayed—like memory—lost in the skies.
Call my name, if it still reaches your ear,
My voice now flows through tears and prayer sincere.
