Every time I rise, you

close in on me,

like a dark shadow;

intercepting me,

preventing me from shining bright,

stealing my thunder,

eclipsing each moment that was meant to be mine.

    I loved this...makes me think of a video I saw of a little boy who sees, for the first time, his shadow is following him...and he can't get away from it.
