In shadows deep, where sorrow swells,
A chilling beauty blooms, a bittersweet fire,
Darkness, a cloak, yet swirls with grace,
Twisting, enchanting, as fate conspires.
Through tempestuous nights, where lost souls roam,
The heart’s chamber pulses, defying despair,
Beauty thrives within the void,
Illuminating paths, though no light is there.
A nightbird's song, a haunting delight,
Sings of mysteries cloaked in dark’s embrace,
With fervor ignites the trembling flame,
In depths unseen, emerges a silent grace.
O, sorrow’s seeds, in shadowy soil,
Dare to bloom with elegance profound,
For in the bleak, an unbroken strength swells,
The tortured rose, endlessly unbound.
From nightbird’s plume and midnight’s breath,
A mosaic of dreams begins to dance,
In the folds of darkness lies a spark divine,
A call to rise, a fervent advance.
So dare to roam the corridors of night,
Where grief and glory intertwine as one,
In the embrace of myths and mournful tales,
Find the beauty that belongs to none.
For in the heart of solitude and strife,
The spirit soars on wings of shadow’s song,
A symphony of courage, forged in pain,
In darkened realms where we all belong.

The musicality of your verses, especially with nightbird and midnight imagery, makes the darkness feel alive rather than oppressive.
This is the kind of poem that stays with you. Dark, but full of courage and quiet hope. Loved it
Wonderful look at light and darkness.
Lovely
This made me think of Tennyson's "The Eagle," not because the messages are similar, but because of the way the poem hits - "...like a thunderbolt..." The juxtaposition of light and dark is really well done. "The tortured rose..." is a great image - so rich. It's a poem of strength - and the ending is the thunderbolt - I was swept up in "The spirit soars on wings of shadow's song." Then the ending line..."...where we all belong" just left me stunned. Wonderful work Tim.
