I’m hopeful
For the days we can stand united
I’m hopeful
For no more race, religion, and fighting
I’m hopeful
That soon that day will come
And I’ll be grateful
That we can rise above
Don’t you know that life is hard enough
Just trying to make it through
Don’t you know that you are beautiful
No matter what they say about you
Actions speak louder then words
Words that seem to hurt
Tearing each other down
Kicking them on the ground
What have we done
Teaching our children to run, run, run
Fearful for the next day
Begging them just to go away
And while we’re lying on the floor
We’re not scared anymore
They can try to tear us down
But we won’t be pushed around
We may rise or we may fall
But there are shades of color in us all.
About the Creator
Jessica Patrzyk
I have loved writing poetry and songs since I was a child. And I have just realized that I could write things that other people could actually read. Now my work won’t go unnoticed so here goes nothing! I hope you enjoy it!!
