The ocean is vast and deep
Hundreds of shades of blue cover the black abyss
As do blue eyes cover an expressive soul
Carefree like a bluebird soaring through the sky
Strutting like a proud peacock
With a clean slate comes newborn confidence
Moving forward with a spine made of steel
Outlook is as bright as sapphire
The creativity contained is electric
Admired for being honest and true
A brilliant and infectious smile
There is also sadness as dark as the nighttime sky
As if you were looking into space
After midnight comes the dawn
Eyes open to a brand new day
These same eyes that show me all the shades of blue
