Why do you like pink

Was not what I was asked explicitly

I picked up the question to ask

To ask myself

Am I a boy

Light, flowy, vivid sensations

Easily fades into my darkness

Over and over I fall in

I know about death

Darkness and shadow are my friends

It too often gives my pink some

Too much shade

The same shade that was cast over the face

An orphaned kitten I cared for

Their paws were fresh and pink

Even after their sudden death

Heavy, stiff, empty body

Their pink did not fade away

In the face of their darkness

Tightness, lightness, sadness, guilt

Again and again I look back

Is what I see in pink what you see in pink?

inspirational
