Cut me loose of my bonds with a knife.

I still wear your bruises like shackles.

But now I am free of strife.

Released by a jackal.

No longer will you

Dissect the flesh,

Twist the blade.

No more

Blood.

    Fantastic entry, Alyssa! The way it’s written feels physical, I hope that wasn’t the case but either way brilliantly done. I especially liked the line about wearing their bruises like shackles, that felt so relatable ❤️
