Serenity

A Poem

By Mihaela VasilevaPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Amidst the clouds,

Or, ensuring that my imagination flows with the waves of the oceans,

I come quickly to realize that

This

Serenity

Is the true place of the soul.

Neither grieving, nor in pain,

Nor in sorrow, nor in anger,

Nor in hatred, nor in deceit,

Here lies a stillness almost entirely unknown to the moving pictures.

I find solace and peace in this space,

As proper words find their meanings in phrases

As all comes to balance itself out like a simple equation:

Two plus two is four

Four minus two is two.

I begin to imagine floating on water,

My mind empty of the countless things it conjures

Deemed too useless to exist any longer.

I watch my fingers breathe in the ocean’s air,

Her waves give rise to my soul,

And with it

I can move mountains.
