Written for Mike Singleton's September Dollar Prompt:

πŸ‚πŸπŸ‚πŸπŸ‚πŸπŸ‚πŸπŸ‚πŸπŸ‚πŸπŸ‚

Rainy days with falling leaves

We bid farewell to summer's ease

πŸ‚πŸπŸ‚πŸπŸ‚πŸπŸ‚πŸπŸ‚πŸπŸ‚πŸπŸ‚

We wish it stayed a bit longer

But eventually days become colder.

πŸͺβοΈπŸͺβοΈπŸͺβοΈπŸͺβοΈπŸͺβοΈπŸͺβοΈπŸͺ

Friends are gone, I'm home alone,

Scrolling for hours on my phone.

πŸͺβοΈπŸͺβοΈπŸͺβοΈπŸͺβοΈπŸͺβοΈπŸͺβοΈπŸͺ

Rotting in my bed all day,

School has started, I should pray,

πŸŒ§β˜‚οΈπŸŒ§β˜‚οΈπŸŒ§β˜‚οΈπŸŒ§β˜‚οΈπŸŒ§β˜‚οΈπŸŒ§β˜‚οΈπŸŒ§

Because I didn't learn a word

Tomorrow's test sounds too absurd.

πŸŒ§β˜‚οΈπŸŒ§β˜‚οΈπŸŒ§β˜‚οΈπŸŒ§β˜‚οΈπŸŒ§β˜‚οΈπŸŒ§β˜‚οΈπŸŒ§

Why can't the weather be dry?

I don't mind the cloudy sky,

πŸŒ β˜„οΈπŸŒ β˜„οΈπŸŒ β˜„οΈπŸŒ β˜„οΈπŸŒ β˜„οΈπŸŒ β˜„οΈπŸŒ

But if only I would not get soaked

Everytime I put on a coat...

πŸŒ β˜„οΈπŸŒ β˜„οΈπŸŒ β˜„οΈπŸŒ β˜„οΈπŸŒ β˜„οΈπŸŒ β˜„οΈπŸŒ

I miss the long talk summer nights

All those memorable times

πŸŒ’πŸ•°πŸŒ“πŸ•°πŸŒ”πŸ•°πŸŒ•πŸ•°πŸŒ–πŸ•°πŸŒ—πŸ•°πŸŒ˜

When the alarm was silent

Waking up early wasn't frequent.

πŸŒ’πŸ•°πŸŒ“πŸ•°πŸŒ”πŸ•°πŸŒ•πŸ•°πŸŒ–πŸ•°πŸŒ—πŸ•°πŸŒ˜

I know I should get more sleep.

For a day off I would weep.😭

I like the autumn, but you are correct we all miss summer when the days begin to shorten.

You know, sometimes I think about how nice it is to still have some sense of the different seasons. I mean the difference of the seasons. With climate change, winter is slowly disappearing. I can't remember the last time we had a white Christmas. God, they were beautiful. Very nice writing.

  • This is absolutely charming.

  • This was so melodious, really beautiful, Anna!

  • That is a wonderful set of words beautifully presented and I hope it gets a deserved Top Story
