"Send in the clowns"

In show business, when a performance was floundering, they would call for clowns to be sent in to distract the audience and try to "paper over"the failure. That is, to salvage the negative moment and make it a positive experience with comic relief.

But who can the clowns call when they have their own tragic moment, when they are the ones in need of a distraction, when their performance at life has a failure?

An unrequited love that clings to hope as it stumbles, and there are no clowns to send in.

In this world, we will always have performers who portray a character on the stage of life, and the clowns who come in to "fix" things by distracting. We become the performers and the clowns too, juggling everything at the same time while smiling and acting happy as we lose track and things hit the floor around us.

If we follow our pre-written path we don't need the clowns to be sent in because God wrote the script. He selects the cast and He orchestrates our every move. He already knows where we're going to go off- script, and places us where we can view the script again clearly.

He writes our story, and if we just follow His storyline and not our own, we will understand the who's and the why's. His story format is still used by magicians and writers to this day. All is well and then conflict arises, the trials threaten ruination and then a beautiful resolution comes. In music the major notes sound much more beautiful after hearing the minor notes and chords, because of the contrast between the two.

We could never experience true joy without experiencing sadness. We could never experience a fullness without experiencing a loss. We could never experience true peace without experiencing chaos. He knows what we are going through and He knows where it is taking us, and He expects us to trust the Writer enough to keep following the storyline. And if you do veer off the path in your own designed plot twist, He will send in the angels and helpers to guide you back to your storyline.

I have read His Book and He is a really great Writer- no wonder His Book is the number one selling publication of all time. And I got the best autograph ever, with His fingerprints all over my heart.

When the playwright is God, we know that we can call on Him and He will send in angels and helpers to help us find the right page. Let the clowns be, they have their own storylines to find in Him too.
