A Tribute to Anti-Suicide

I knew this girl, and I loved her name.

She went by Mota, but it was Mary Jane.

We got along well, I know she felt the same.

We did a lot of dancing in the midnight rain.

She was salt to my pepper, yin to my yang.

She was my anything.

Even after everything, I still believe it's true.

I just wish there was more that I was able to do.

When the world got dark from her point of view,

I found a note that said:

"Sorry! Love, you know who."

We were just kids then, but like I said, she knew pain.

Abandoned by her mom and dad and left with the blame.

Though her dad didn't leave before giving her the shame

of a violated girl whos hands became blood stained.

That's kind of how I met her, scared and on the run.

But I never really cared at all about what she had done.

I was friend to her.

There for her.

Swore to always care for her.

A part of me died too when she used that gun.

If only she had given it a little more time,

I know her pain would have faded away like mine.

But when you're young and haven't left all that much behind,

it can be hard to see the answers that you'd live to find.

So if you're struggling youth, don't give up the grind.

There's a million reasons not to leave this world behind.
