Sellotape//The Westward Wind

where we were//where we started

By Chick OrlandoPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Please buy some Sellotape on your way home

In case your hair comes out when I pull it

//

Your eye liner was like black roses

Your curls were flowing vines in the wind of that night

Poetry in motion

A sickle celled lover in the land of the healers

And a doomed lover in the land of the eternal

I followed you still, entranced and nauseous with desire

Followed you from this place

I wanted to be hopeless so I knew what freedom meant

So I could be grateful for the fruits of the tree that bends and twists overtime for the wind

And you mocked me, so blasé, so condescending, mimicking my helplessness

And I was freaked to find your bones next to mine in the morning

So go ahead, peel back my eyes, that's where the open road is
