There are few things I hate more
than intrusive, ABAB rhyme.
It’s such a bore,
a waste of time.
Dull language in store,
Rhyme is not sublime.
It makes me want to scream and shout,
obnoxious, sing-song verse.
Go ahead: whine and pout,
put your words in a hearse.
If all it does is rhyme,
it’s not worth my time.
No rhymes in this beautiful song

That last line made me smirk a little — after all the railing against rhyme, ending with “No rhymes in this beautiful song” felt like a quiet wink, especially after “put your words in a hearse,” which is such a dramatic, memorable image. It reads like someone who’s been burned by lazy rhyme before but still can’t quite escape the rhythm of it, which honestly feels very real. Do you actually hate rhyme itself, or is it more about how often it gets used as a shortcut instead of saying something risky?
Give me free form in everything, i groan when i see the ABAB BAA, why, I am with you on that. Just say what we have to say...though some are fun when you get past the drudgery.
Well, Vocal and most creators agree with you, but this is an excellent and fun swipe at rhyming
