Selene

Lady of the Night

By Margaret DraperPublished 2 months ago 1 min read

Selene my lady fair and full of grace,

Listen to my prayer when you see my face.

My love has gone to distant, far off soil.

In the war, the bloody strife, he does toil.

We were lovers, sworn to each to be true.

A new love, a mistress, he does pursue.

I strive with Athena for my bold love.

Duty has taken my bright dove.

So dear Selene, it's to you I implore.

Bring my lover home from that far off shore.

Watch over him whereever he may go.

Tell him I miss him and I love him so.
