I’m sending out a invite to
society to enter the world of
M.E.
As you enter my room please be
aware of the deafening silence
and the stillness everywhere.
When you open the closet you
will see my neatly pressed
uniform still brand new to me .
You see I never made it to school
that year I thought I could and
not the years after despite they
said I should .
Now I wear it in a place every
day that dosen’t seem so far
away .
In that place I have so much fun
my friends all laugh and we like
to run .
There is a man down the road
I think he sixty three but when
he is in his special place he looks
nineteen to you and me .
He about to start University
with dreams so big and bright
but suddenly they disappeared
over night .
There is a lady in another street
a proud mum who now hears
tiny feet .
They trample through her room
asking her to play and she tries
with all her best she never would
say go away .
When she is in that special place
she pushes the swing with all
her might and her heart fills
with joy as her son whoops with
delight .
As this world keeps turning
please spare a thought for us .
We never asked to live in our
dreams we never wanted the
fuss.
We asked for a life like you with
hope and memories fulfilled too .
One day our dreams could
become real but it takes a big
commitment from you to always
remember to see us too .
