See Into The Shadows Of The Light In The Dawn Of Day Or The Middle Of Night
By Jason Morton
Visitors come and visitors go,
and they're the most special friends.
Loving people and all the special ones we know,
and they're the ones that'll be there until our time ends.
Some come along quite by surprise,
touching us with their presence.
We may not want to believe our own eyes,
feeling like they're heaven-sent.
We see them coast through the night,
thoughts of them fill our days.
We see them with a second sight,
standing beneath the sun's warming rays.
Their memories fill us with thoughts of better times,
and thoughts of them at our worst will comfort us.
Sounds of the country winds and hanging wind chimes,
hear our laughter as kids making a gleeful ruckus.
It's the shadows that remind us they're tied to our lives,
explaining the tricks light plays.
Memories of them before everything changed give relief
seeing them again in the shadows of night, feeling their still there.
It's all a comfort and release from our grief.
